Warning: Correspondence and a website misusing the name 'Yassar Talal' and 'Talal Law Ltd'

The SRA has been advised that correspondence misusing the names 'Yassar Talal' and 'Talal Law Ltd' has been sent and a website for ‘Al Talal Legal Consultants’ is operating and falsely claiming to be a law firm.
What is the scam?
A member of the public has been contacted by an individual falsely purporting to be 'Yassar Talal' of 'Talal Law Ltd'. The individual provided fraudulent identity documents, misusing the name and SRA number of a genuine solicitor, and the name of a genuine firm of solicitors (see below).
The SRA has been advised that the individual claimed to be able to assist in recovering money stolen by a fake company. They used the email address 'law@talal-law.org' and provided a contact telephone number of 07452 341093 and website of 'www.talal-law.org'.
This website claims to be for a law firm called 'Al Talal Legal Consultants', refers to a lawyer named 'Yasser Talal', and includes an office address at Cranbrook Road, Ilford, Essex, IG1 4PU. The only means of contact is by web form.
Any business or transaction through the above contact details or website is not undertaken by a firm or solicitor authorised and regulated by the SRA.
Is there a genuine firm or person?
The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called Talal Law Ltd. Its office is at 103 Cranbrook Road, Ilford, IG1 4PU. It does not operate a website.
The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine solicitor called Yassar Talal.
The genuine firm of solicitors and solicitor have confirmed that they do not have any connection to the above correspondence or website.
What should I do?
When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
