Warning: Trademark registration emails misusing the name of Brexit Law Limited

23 May 2025

Emails have been sent misusing the names of 'Isaac Mirza' and 'Mark Andrew Corran' claiming to be from ‘Brexit Law Firm’ regarding intellectual property matters.

What is the scam?

The SRA has been informed that emails have been sent misusing the names of genuine solicitors (see below). The individuals are referred to as being 'Intellectual Property Solicitors'. The emails also misuse the name and address of a genuine firm of solicitors (see below).

The emails seen by the SRA advise the recipient that an applicant is supposedly seeking legal protection for a brand name used by the recipient. The recipient is advised to consider registering their trademark; failing which, the applicant may receive exclusive ownership of the name.

The emails were sent using the domain of '@brexitlawfirm.com', ‘@brexitlawfirms.com’ and @brexitlaws.com and provide the telephone number of '+44(0) 20 37693846' and the website addresses of ‘https://brexitlawfirm.com', ‘https://brexitlawfirms.com’and ‘https://brexitlaws.com/’. The emails also misuse the name and SRA ID of Isaac Mirza and the name of Mark Andrew Corran (please see below) and the address of a genuine firm of solicitors (please see below).

Any business or transaction through the websites of ‘https://brexitlawfirm.com', ‘https://brexitlawfirms.com’and ‘https://brexitlaws.com/’, the telephone number of '+44 (0) 20 37693846' and the email domains of '@brexitlawfirm.com’, ‘@brexitlawfirms.com’ and ‘@brexitlaws.com’ are not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called Brexit Law Limited. The firm's head office address is 1st Floor Queens Chambers, 5 John Dalton Street, Manchester, M2 6ET England. Its email domain is '@brexitlaw.co'.

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine solicitor called Isaac Mirza, who is the owner of Brexit Law Limited. Isaac Mirza's SRA ID is 14102.

The genuine firm of Brexit Law Limited confirmed that neither it nor Isaac Mirza have any connection to the above alert.

The SRA also authorises and regulates a genuine solicitor called Mark Andrew Corran. Mark Corran confirmed that he is not connected to the above alert nor associated to any firm using 'Brexit' in its name.

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
