Warning: Trademark correspondence misusing the names of a Shahadur Rahman and Rahman Legal Services Limited

Correspondence regarding purported intellectual property protection matters has been sent, misusing the names of Shahadur Rahman and Rahman Legal Services Limited.
What is the scam?
A variety of similar bogus correspondence has been sent to businesses, misusing the details of a genuine solicitor and the name of a genuine law firm authorised and regulated by the SRA (see below).
The correspondence informs the recipients that an application has been made, seeking exclusive rights to their company name or to a brand name used by the recipient. The correspondence invites the recipient to secure trademark registration of the company name and offers to assist with this process.
The correspondence seen by the SRA misuses the name and SRA number of a genuine solicitor and the name and postal address of a genuine firm of solicitors (see below). The correspondence seen was sent from the email address 'rahman@rahmanlegalservicesltd.com'.
Any business or transaction through the above email of 'rahman@rahmanlegalservicesltd.com' is not undertaken by a firm or solicitor authorised and regulated by the SRA.
Various versions of similar correspondence have been sent, misusing the names of different individuals and law firms (see linked alerts below).
Is there a genuine firm or person?
The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called Rahman Legal Services Limited based at SMA House 172 Birmingham Road West Bromwich B70 6QG. The email domain for the firm is Info@rahmanlegalservices.com. The firm does not have a website.
The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine solicitor called Shahadur Rahman who is the Director at Rahman Legal Services Limited.
Rahman Legal Services Limited has confirmed that they do not have any connection to the correspondence referred to in the above alert.
What should I do?
When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
