Emails have been sent misusing the name of Tania Austin and solicitor’s firm Branch Austin McCormick LLP
What is the scam?
The SRA has been advised that emails have been sent to members of the public, purporting to be from a genuine solicitor (see below) and a genuine firm (see below)
The emails are being sent from the email address 'Iamattorneytaniaaustin@gmail.com'.
Any business or transaction through the above email address is not undertaken by an individual or firm of solicitors authorised and regulated by the SRA.
Is there a genuine firm or person?
The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine firm of solicitors called Branch Austin McCormick LLP. The genuine firm's head office address is 32 St James's Street, London, SW1A 1HD and their genuine telephone number is 02078510100.
The firm's genuine email domain ends in '@branchaustinmccormick.com'
The genuine firm employs a genuine solicitor called Tania Austin whose genuine email address is ta@branchaustinmccormick.com
The genuine firm of solicitors and the genuine solicitor have confirmed that they have no connection to the emails referred to in the above alert.
