What is the scam?

The SRA has been informed messages have been sent purporting to be sent by Safeer Rathor offering legal services via Telegram.

Any business or transaction through Telegram for the individual listed above is not undertaken by an individual authorised and regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA authorises and regulates a genuine solicitor called Safeer Rathor (SRA ID 585292).

Safeer Rathor is a solicitor for Gatsby Law Ltd (SRA ID 814357) a genuine firm of solicitors who are authorised and regulated by the SRA. Their head office address is 2-4 Place Farm, Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire, AL4 8SB.

Gatsby Law Ltd has confirmed neither the firm or Safeer Rathor have any connection to the messages or Telegram account referred to in the above alert.
