A Power of Attorney has been sent claiming to be from 'Frame & Associates Ltd'.

What is the scam?

The SRA has seen a purported Power of Attorney sworn by a 'Alexandra Wong', claiming to be a barrister and Legal Consultant / Principal Associate of 'Frame & Associates Ltd'.

The Power of Attorney bears a stamp with the words 'Frame & Associates, solicitors & advocates and the date '27 04 26'. Its letterhead has the telephone number +44 871 218 4515, a fax number +44 871 218 4516, an email address Legal@frame-capital.com and a postal address of One Canada Square, Canary Wharf, London, E14 5LQ, United Kingdom.

Any business or transaction through the above contact details, company or individual is not undertaken by a firm or individual authorised or regulated by the SRA.

Is there a genuine firm or person?

The SRA does not authorise or regulate a genuine firm of solicitors called 'Frame & Associates Ltd'.

What should I do?

When a firm's or individual's identity has been copied exactly (or cloned), due diligence is necessary. If you receive correspondence claiming to be from the above firm(s) or individual(s), or information of a similar nature to that described, you should conduct your own due diligence by checking the authenticity of the correspondence by contacting the law firm directly by reliable and established means. You can contact the SRA to find out if individuals or firms are regulated and authorised by the SRA and verify an individual's or firm's practising details. Other verification methods, such as checking public records (e.g. telephone directories and company records) may be required in other circumstances.
