What is the scam?
A website at www.mtasolicitors.com is operating and falsely claiming to be for a law firm called 'MTA Solicitors LLP'
The website provides a general contact email address of 'enquiries@mtasolicitors.co.uk' and a second email address of 'manchester@mtasolicitors.co.uk'. The website also provides contact telephone numbers of 0161 496 0852 and 0800 555 0147. The website shows the following postal addresses: Castlefield House, 14 Bridgewater Viaduct, Manchester, M3 7AH, Meridian Chambers, 28 Elmwood Road, London, SE15 9XZ and Whitfield Business Centre, Greenwood Lane, Northfleet, Kent, DA11 7PQ.
The website purports to have SRA ID: 682194. The website also claims and names several solicitors who work at 'MTA Solicitors LLP'.
Any business or transaction through 'MTA Solicitors LLP' or through the above website, telephone numbers, or any email addresses is not undertaken by a firm or solicitor authorised and regulated by the SRA.
The SRA does not authorise or regulate a firm of solicitors called 'MTA Solicitors LLP'.
Is there a genuine firm or person?
MTA Solicitors LLP (SRA ID: 565156) was a genuine firm of solicitors authorised by the SRA. This firm ceased trading on 22 December 2022.
There are genuine solicitors who have the same name as one that is referred to on the website, but none of the genuine solicitors are believed to have any connection to the website.
