This notification relates to a Decision to bring Disciplinary Proceedings before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal. This is an independent Tribunal which will reach its own decision after considering all the evidence, including any evidence put forward by the Solicitor. The Tribunal has certified that there is a case to answer in respect of allegations which are or include :-
- On 11 June 2024, Mr Ali sought to prevent one of his clients from pursuing a complaint to the SRA by offering to refund their legal fees in return for the client agreeing to write to the SRA and withdraw their complaint.
- On 14 June 2024, Mr Ali provided misleading information to the SRA by stating he had never offered to refund the client’s legal fees when he had done so on two occasions (a) 27 February 2024 and (b)11 June 2024.
The allegations are subject to a Hearing before the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal and are as yet unproven.
